I am writing on behalf of Lisa Kirshon regarding her position with us at Salem State University.
Lisa has always been a pleasure to work with because her pleasant manner and positive attitude can make nearly any work seem fun and interesting! She worked in our Non-Credit Community program for at least ten years doing a FANTASTIC job teaching Tai Chi and QiGong, as well as Wellness in the Workplace and Mindful Meditation.
Her classes were always "overflowing" and at times we would have to limit her classes and keep a list of people of the overflow for the next session. I distinctly remember observing one of her classes and a participant was complaining about a procedure, rather than getting upset, Lisa continued to point out the positives of the class and within a week or so the participant began to enjoy herself, and thanked Lisa for her encouragement.
We were sorry when Lisa decided to leave us for further school, as it definitely left a void in our program and trying to find someone of her caliber was difficult!
I have followed Lisa since we left us and I understand that she also now does specialty classes such as: for people with Parkinson's, Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Breast Cancer and Spinal Health as well as Chai Chi.
Lisa is definitely a very special person with much talent. I wish her the best as she moves on to Florida. Any institution would be fortunate to have her on its' staff.

Thank you so much for providing the demonstration "Tai Chi for Arthritis" and for participating in the "Ask the Expert" area of our Better Living with Arthritis Expo. Your presentation was included in comments on the "Best Aspects" of the Expo, and clearly the large number of participants showed how interested the attendees were to see and learn about Tai Chi. The Expo evaluations were extremely positive, and I am so grateful and proud to have had Arthritis Foundation program leaders like you involved. I think you added depth and expertise that was obviously appreciated and well received by attendees.
